Alma Mater
- Last year a competition was discussed for students to submit an alma mater, and then the student body would vote on it
- I think this is a great idea, and would love to see us make one which we can present at graduation. The competition deadline should be set so that entries can be gathered and voted on. The student government should decide when the deadline needs to be and then the voting could possibly happen two weeks after the deadline for entries.
- A competition for the drawing of a mascot was also discussed.
- A twig was suggested to be the mascot of OHS, as we are junior to Stanford University, who’s mascot is the pine tree. Further ideas could be submitted and voted on, and then a competition for a drawing with similar voting procedures to the competition for an alma mater could be put in place.
