Organize activities for OHS’s graduation festivities
These could possibly include:
- A volleyball game or flag football game with students vs. OHS Faculty
- Activities for students and families to participate in while in the Bay Area
- Scavenger hunt around Stanford Campus
- Formal dinner and possibly dance
Centra Get-Togethers
Since our text chats get turned off in some classes and we don’t get to convene many other times to chat, the Events Committee would be in charge of hosting several “Chat Rooms” throughout the year. Last year there was even a holiday party in Centra!
Regional Get-Togethers
Class Trips
I think that it’s very important for us to spend time together in person as opposed to just online. I’d like to start a tradition of class trips, whether they be primarily senior trips, or open to whoever wants to participate from our school.
- A survey would be taken of a place of interest such as New York City, Miami, Chicago, Paris, Rome, or anywhere! Then this committee would be responsible for budgeting and planning the trip. Plane tickets would be the responsibility of each individual as we all live in different places; however, food and lodging would be organized by this committee and a tentative budget would be created.
- Parents and professors would volunteer to chaperone.
- Students would also get to have input on what activities they’d like to do, whether they be visiting museums, watching performances, visiting colleges, etc. All suggestions would be welcome and taken into consideration.
- The surveys for this would need to be completed immediately to see if there is interest for this year. If there is, then the planning should be done by the end of winter break if a trip is to happen during Spring Break or Summer Break.
