Student Affairs

Continuation of the Buddy Program

  • At the end of the year this committee will write a letter to send out to all incoming students inviting them to meet students in OHS
  • Current students will be asked to participate if they want to and given a questionnaire similar to the one given to incoming students to match interests
  • Suggestion: Create contacts among incoming students in addition to previous students

Google Map of students
  • Create a map that has the location of all the students in OHS with their pictures
  • The information for this could be obtained from the school, so the people who would want to work on this would need to give an estimate of how much time it would take to program.
Create a “View Book” to distribute to prospective students and incoming students
  • Similar to Stanford University’s which includes quotes from students and professors about classes
  • Include information about different clubs in OHS and special classes
  • Include a few pictures from graduation and the summer sessions
  • This would need to be completed with enough time to distribute to prospective students, preferably by the beginning of March. This would mean that information should be collected by the end of Winter Break in order to assemble it all and make it into a webpage.

Contact Information
  • Create a contact book complete with screen names, facebook accounts, myspace sites, emails (personal and Stanford), personal WebPages, and any other contact information
  • This would be voluntary, and people who do not wish to submit their contact information do not need to
Study Groups
  • develop a schedule of possible times; however, times need to be requested in advance so that a professor can be found to supervise
  • It would be nice to have study groups before finals to prepare for the finals; so a schedule would hopefully be made by the middle of November. Study groups for SAT Exams/AP Exams would be great as well!

Textbooks!
  • Most universities allow students to resell their books/buy books from other students—why don’t we?
  • This could take place during the summer session and/or graduation
Alumni Association
  • For alumni to host reunions if they want to, and for students to ask advice from past students.
